SUMMARY:Honoring Karri Allrich and for Cape Wellness Collaborative
DESCRIPTION:A reception honoring Karri Allrich. Respected artists Jonathan Earle\, Maryalice Eizenberg\, and Andrea Petitto will demonstrate oil painting. Questions are encouraged while viewers of all ages watch paintings come to life. Guests will also be treated to live music by Cape favorite Sarah Swain. Winter’s chill will be further diminished by libations and nibbles from Mary’s Fine Provisions. \n  \nThe Addison Art Gallery first began representing Karri Allrich over 25 years ago. Grateful for her time with us and honoring her memory\, the Addison Art Gallery will donate a portion of her gallery sales to Cape Wellness Collaborative. \n  \nAllrich’s work is rooted in abstraction’s poetry of shapes and color\, inhabiting the space between perception and memory. Informed by her lifelong photography practice\, her paintings capture the shifting light and flickering impressions that linger in reflection. Through her lens of experience\, each painting became a language of presence\, atmosphere\, and emotion\, inviting viewers into a contemplative dialogue where meaning unfolds gradually\, resonating beyond the purely visual. \n  \n“While rooted in impressionism and influenced by Cezanne\, Van Gogh\, and Cassatt\, Allrich’s semi-abstract style encourages viewers to interpret and engage with the paintings in their own personal way. Her use of rich colors and impasto brushstrokes convey energy and sense of movement in the landscape. In her still life pieces\, flowers and fruit present an interplay of traditional form and abstraction\, conveying place and mood with atmosphere and light. Allrich works in layers\, building up surfaces with washes of thin paint\, followed by thicker areas using a palette knife and other textural tools allowing discovery to influence the process of creating.” Chris White\, Cape Cod Life \n  \nHer work can be found in prestigious collections including Nordstrom\, Julia Child\, Claire Murray Designs\, Roger Horchow\, Tower Records\, Los Angeles and others. \n  \nKarri Allrich passed in December 2025. She faced cancer the same way she faced everything else in her life\, with courage\, grace\, humility and humor.

SUMMARY:Celebrating Arts Week with the Arts Foundation\, Live Music and Live Painting
DESCRIPTION:Join artists\, friends and neighbors for live music by Larry Murray\, and live painting by Maryalice Eizenberg\, Jonathan McPhillips and Amy Sanders at the Addison Art Gallery\, 43 Route 28\, Orleans. Discover works by master and emerging artists from throughout the region\, country\, and beyond. \nThis is a great opportunity to meet local artists in a casual setting and to learn more about their techniques and inspirations. Plus\, learn more about the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod which supports\, and celebrates arts and culture of the region\, serving artists\, all art forms\, cultural and historical centers. \nFor more information on the Arts Foundation\, https://artsfoundation.org. \nAn award-winning artist\, Maryalice Eizenberg has been drawing and painting all of her life. She completed coursework at the Worcester and Springfield Fine Arts museums\, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Clark University\, and studied with painters John Cosby\, Donald Demers\, Kim English\, Daniel Keys\, Gregg Kreutz\, Joseph Paquet\, and Charles Sovek. Dramatic patterns of light and color are what attract her most to a subject. It is her emotional response to these elements that she strives to share with the viewer. \nEizenberg has been featured in Cape Cod Life and Chatham magazines and “The Creative Spirit\, Art in Chatham’s Old Village.” Her work appears in Contemporary Cape Cod Artists: People and Places by Deborah Forman. She teaches at the Creative Arts Center in Chatham\, and is a member of Oil Painters of America\, and Twenty One in Truro. Her work has been shown in museums on and off the Cape. Her work is held in private collections in the United States\, Europe and Japan. \nTruro artist Amy Sanders paints richly detailed paintings\, capturing the serenity and beauty of nature. She portrays the power of the ocean and bay\, the peaceful and fragile landscape of the pine woods and dunes\, the intricacies of tidal pools\, the joy of beach goers\, and the changing atmosphere of the Outer Cape. \nAmy is a pastelist. As a dry pigment\, using skillful layering of the pastels allows light to bounce among the particles creating the radiance and intricacy that define her work. An award-winning artist\, Amy is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America\, and a respected art juror in the art show circuit. Her work resides in collections throughout New England and abroad. \n“While painting I become drawn into the scene. It’s an extraordinary sensation where I can feel the sand between my toes\, smell the salt air\, or hear the roar of the ocean. To bring that sensation to others is my primary goal. \n“I paint and am not a professional photographer because of the unique difference that painting brings to the scene. Many work is highly realistic\, with edges softer and colors richer than photographs. There is also a depth that one does not find in a photograph. Objects in the distance have smoother edges and less detail — more typical of how the eye sees than a camera. While I often use photographs for reference\, there is a richer emotion from the spectacular beauty of a scene when creating painting\, that I hope carries through to the viewer.” —Amy Sanders

SUMMARY:Summer Impressions: Maryalice Eizenberg One Woman Show
DESCRIPTION:Demonstration at 4:00; reception 5:00 to 7:00Music by Larry Murray\nMaryalice Eizenberg’s exuberant paintings bring joy to any setting. Her passion for plein air and skillful portray of light has been augmented by still lifes set in sunlight. Her work is the result of the rhythm and light patterns she sees in her surroundings.\nEizenberg came to the Cape for the first time when she was six years old. Her family would come annually to the Cape and the Outer Cape burrowed deep into her heart. She made herself a promise: someday it would be her home. The access to art\, music\, and an egalitarian society that is Provincetown and the history of Cape Cod nourished that promise.\nArt and music have always been an integral part of Maryalice’s life. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark University and studied at the Museum School of the Worcester Art Museum. After graduation her art studies continued with numerous\, accomplished American painters.\nWe hope you can join us and discover the works often referred to “parties in frames”.

SUMMARY:Wild Lives Andrea Petitto One Woman Show
DESCRIPTION:Demonstration at 4:00\, reception 5:00 to 7:00Live music\n\nAndrea Petitto has always been fascinated by the natural world. Earlier in life this led her to scientific explorations of how nature works. According to Petitto\, “the need to create eventually won out and I became an artist immersed in observing and representing themes in the lives of people. Now I have returned to the study of nature but this time as an artist.”\n\nThrough direct observation and 24-hour trail cam footage\, she observes our wild neighbors. Her latest works show us the great beauty and emotional depth in the lives of woodland creatures\, adding a dimension to this exhibit that will also include portrayals of her fellow two-legged animals.\nAndrea Petitto was born in rural Massachusetts where\, in her youth\, she had to choose between art and science. Andrea’s father had been a sculptor and Andrea grew up making things with modeling clay. Instead of the usual children’s literature\, as a small child Andrea was fascinated by the images in large folio books of Rodin and Michelangelo sculptures. These influences can still be seen in the strong sense of solidity and form in her paintings. In 1990\, after a career as university professor and industry consultant\, she moved to art.\n\nAndrea has now devoted herself to the study of painting and works as a full-time artist with a particular passion for the human figure and animals often situated in their natural worlds.\n\nAndrea taught art classes at Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua NY\, Cape Cod Art Association in Barnstable and Creative Arts Center\, Chatham. She has had solo shows in Canandaigua and at the Copley Society in Boston\, and has won many awards in Rochester\, NY\, Boston’s Copley Society\, and at many venues on Cape Cod.

SUMMARY:Luminous Places: Jonathan McPhillips One Man Show
DESCRIPTION:Demonstration at 4:00\, reception 5:00 to 7:00Music by Cape favorite Sarah Burrill\nThese paintings are inspired by explorations on the Outer Cape\, where the changing light and landscape offer unique opportunities for artistic exploration. Many began as plein-air studies of the harbors\, villages\, and expansive shorelines. Working outdoors allows McPhillips to respond directly to the shifting weather and tide. He continues from those first observations to create his finished works. According to Jonathan\, “Allowing for deeper consideration and reflection\, I can let a group of inspirations grow together and form their stories. This process helps me to honor the light\, atmosphere\, and history of the places we cherish.”\n\nJonathan McPhillips\, a cum laude graduate of Connecticut College with a BFA in Fine Art\, celebrates the coastal splendor of New England. Equally adept in the studio or on location\, Jonathan’s work encompasses harbors\, beaches\, vessels\, and the distinct architecture of the coastal marine environment.\nWith an impressive list of awards and accomplishments\, Jonathan’s artistry has garnered national and international recognition. His work has been showcased in various U.S. embassies through the “Art in Embassies” program by the U.S. Department of State. As an esteemed member of various professional art organizations\, including the Providence Art Club\, The Salmagundi Club\, NY\, and the American Impressionists Society\, Jonathan continues to evolve and inspire\, bringing to life the allure of coastal New England.
