Susan will demonstrate how she uses a small plein air study to create a larger studio piece. Influenced by the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist, the use of wet on wet, broken color and loaded brush will be discussed.
Fay will demonstrate how she works to capture the changing effects of afternoon light and shadow.

Join artists and friends for an exhibit of new paintings inspired by Edward Hopper and the places he painted on Cape Cod. Featured will be wet paintings of classic and distinctive Wellfleet scenes created that morning.
Steve will discuss materials, choice of colors and subject, and how to begin a plein air piece while painting, as well as how Hopper’s work influences his own.
Marc Kundmann, who known for his effective use of the luminous and layered properties of the encaustic medium, will demonstrate and talk about how to bring these same qualities to acrylic painting.
Join friends and neighbors on the lawn of the Addison Art Gallery for a French cafe presented by the French Cable Station Museum and imagine yourself on a sidewalk in Paris. The Museum will be featuring tours, a craft market, live music and activities just for the kids.

In partnership with the Cape Cod National Seashore, works by contemporary artists celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service. On exhibit for the month of August. A selection of plein air works from the morning painting session will be included in the exhibit. After the reception at the Library, at 7 pm, Bill Burke, Cape Cod National Seashore Historian, will present "How to Move Something Really Big: The 1996 Relocation of Highland Lighthouse" at the Highland House Museum.
