Capture the Cape Painting Convergence Around Orleans

Capture the Cape is a fall celebration of this beautiful region and the wonderful community of Orleans; a weekend of entertainment, events, art, dining and sales Columbus Day Weekend sponsored by the Addison Art Gallery and The Land Ho! and the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. The Land Ho!, the region’s most popular restaurant, is widely respected for its support of the arts, and known for its inviting charm and lively good times. According to American Art Collector magazine, the active Addison Art Gallery is “One of the most successful galleries in the country” astounding “the public with art by newly discovered artists and masterpieces by established artists.”

Renowned artists from Cape Cod and states away will be painting in Orleans. This is a great opportunity to watch paintings being created, meet award-winning artists and learn more about their inspirations and techniques. Works by these artists can be found in museums, corporations, U.S. Embassies, and in private collections throughout the Americas, Europe and in Asia. Adults and children alike are enthralled by seeing a painting move from a sketch to a finished piece, and it’s a great experience to spend time with the artists while they are painting (some collectors choose their paintings while they are still being painted) and at the Addison Art Gallery reception.

The wet paintings will be framed and hung for a reception starting at 4:30 and the gallery will be open all afternoon so art lovers can see the works as they arrive.
Works by the participating artists can be found in museums, corporations, U.S. Embassies, and in private collections throughout the Americas.
